These terms cover use of our website, how we handle your personal data, and the standard conditions that apply to any building or carpentry work we carry out.
By using this website or accepting a quotation (by email, in writing, or paying a deposit), you agree to these terms.
1. Website Use
All content on this website belongs to us. You may view it for personal use but must not copy or reuse it without permission.
Please use the site responsibly - do not try to hack it, upload harmful content, or misuse contact forms.
Information on the website is for general guidance only. It is not a quote or professional advice. All work is subject to a separate quotation and these terms.
We are not responsible for third-party links or any loss caused by reliance on general website information (except where we cannot limit liability by law, such as personal injury caused by our negligence).
2. Privacy Policy
We collect personal data mainly through the contact/enquiry form on this website (name, email, phone, address, and details of your project). We use this data to respond to enquiries, provide quotations, and carry out work if you become a customer. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (to run our business and reply to potential customers). We do not sell or routinely share your data with third parties. We keep enquiry data for up to 12 months (or longer if you become a customer or we need it for legal reasons), then delete it securely. You have the right to access, correct, or ask us to delete your data. Contact us at the email above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We use only essential cookies needed for the website to work. We have public liability insurance and take reasonable steps to protect your data.
3. Standard Terms for Building & Carpentry Work
These terms apply to all work we carry out.
Quotations & Contract
Quotations are valid for 30 days. A contract is formed when you accept a quotation. The quotation and these terms together form the full agreement.
Scope of Work
We carry out the works described in the quotation with reasonable care and skill. Anything not listed is excluded. You must give us safe access, electricity, water, and tell us about any hazards or restrictions on site.
Price & Payment
Pay a deposit (usually 20–30% of the total) when you accept the quotation.
Balance is due on completion (or in agreed stages for bigger jobs).
Invoices are payable within 14 days.
Variations & Extras
Any changes must be agreed in writing and will include an updated price and timescale.
Completion & Delays
We aim to finish by the date in the quotation. Delays caused by you, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, may extend the time and (where fair) increase the cost.
Defects
We will fix any defects in our workmanship notified in writing within 6 months of completion, at no extra cost (fair wear and tear excluded). You must give us reasonable access to do so.
Cancellation
Before work starts: we will refund the deposit less our reasonable costs already incurred.
After work starts: you pay for work done and materials supplied plus reasonable costs.
We may stop work and charge for costs if you fail to pay or give access.
Liability & Insurance
We have public liability insurance. Our total liability is limited to the contract price (except for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud, which we cannot limit). You are responsible for insuring your own property.
Disputes
If there is a problem, please contact us straight away in writing so we can inspect and try to resolve it fairly. If we cannot agree, either of us can refer the matter to mediation or the small claims court.
4. General
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
They form the entire agreement between us. Any changes must be in writing.
If any part is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
We may update these terms occasionally.
